McDonald Community Development Fund
Nestled in the corner of the Sunflower state, the charming community of McDonald can be found on US Highway 36, just 38 miles from the Colorado border. In 1888 the post office in the Celia township was moved to land donated by local farmer Rice McDonald, and the town was renamed in his honor. With a population of just over 100 people in about 75 households living in the city, McDonald is quintessentially 'small town America', though much of the population in the zip code are farm families residing outside the city. Like many rural communities in Kansas, McDonald is always searching for ways to energize the community and improve the quality of life for our citizens. That's where MCD ... and you! ... come in. During the Month of September 2024: Matching Funds Campaign - Patterson Family Foundation will match every $1 raised with 75 cents up to $12,000 raised per Organization.
