Match Day funds for the Bird City Housing Authority are used for tenant services or projects. Many tenants struggle financially to make ends meet and providing a gift certificate for food at Hometown Market is one way of assisting tenants and supporting a local business. One project is an annual Christmas party for tenants with a light meal. The community meal is prepared by the organizers of the event and meat and paper goods purchased with Match Day funds. This is a way for tenants to be together with others during the holidays for those unable to be with their own families.
Your generous donations will go toward replacing the obsolete printer available to our patrons. Also, the child safe early literacy digital learning station, which helps enhance our public library position in the community through school readiness and literacy skill-building for young learners, is more than a decade old and needs replaced. It is a system the children love using but many features no longer work properly. Thank you for supporting community literacy with your donations!

The Preschool is not funded by the Kansas State Department of Education, so they rely on private contributions.
